The Scientific Committee seeks high-quality abstracts to be presented at the ESASO Retina Academy 2018

Submitting your abstract
• Abstract submission will be open on 19 February 2018. The deadline for abstract submission is 16 July 2018 deadline POSTPONED to JULY 30TH, 2018.
• Abstracts may only be submitted online.
• Each Presenting Author/First Author can only submit a maximum of two abstracts.

Topic selection
Carefully select the most appropriate topic from the below list when submitting the abstract:
• AMD
• Diabetic retinopathy and DME
• RVO
• Imaging
• Other retinal disorders
• Paediatric diseases
• Visual rehabilitation
• Vitreoretinal surgery



Accepted Abstract

• Accepted abstracts to the ESASO Retina Academy will be published in a special edition of the scientifically rated journal Ophthalmic Research.
Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters at the ESASO Retina Academy 2018.
• Posters will be grouped by the submitting topic.
• All posters must be available for delegates to view at the designated scheduled times during the 18th Esaso Retina Academy.
• The three best abstracts will also be presented orally.
• The three best posters will be awarded with a Certificate for young ophthalmologists and scientists under the age of 40 years, working in the field of ophthalmology



Young Ophthalmologist Award

The ESASO Retina Academy has a special award for young ophthalmologists and scientists under the age of 40 years, working in the field of ophthalmology.

The winners (the three best YO abstracts) will be invited by the Scientific Committee to attend the 18th ESASO Retina Academy in 2019 and registration for 2018 will be refunded.

Case studies submission guidelines

Participants are encouraged to submit medical and surgical case studies. Case studies can be submitted from 19 February 2018 until 16 July 2018 deadline POSTPONED to JULY 30TH, 2018.
The Scientific Committee will review and select up to four of the submitted cases for presentation.
Selected submissions will be notified by 27 August 2018.

Accepted cases will be presented by the authors and discussed during the *Retinamour Clinical Case session with an international expert panel.
*Retinamour: Study Cases Discussion
(1 case in 10 minutes -5 minutes presentation (max 4 slides) + 5 minutes discussion)
• A call is launched for the presentation of unusual or representative clinical cases on retinal or macular disease.
• The scientific committee will make a selection of max 4 cases among the cases presented.
• The selected speaker(one of the attendants whose clinical case was choosed) will present it
• the chairs will rapidly comment the case with the speaker during the presentation and at the end of it the audience may pose questions.
Eligible case studies should, but are not restricted to, focus on:
• Interesting diagnosis and/or treatment
• Controversial management
• Interesting follow-up period
